[Press Release 2017]
The Tuxedo Park Library Observes Memorial Day
with their 14th Annual Community Picnic

Tuxedo Park, NY: Monday, May 29, 2017 from 12:00-2:30pm the Tuxedo Park Library will commemorate those who have served our country with their 14th Annual Memorial Day Community Picnic. This event gives an opportunity for the library to show our gratitude to local service men and women, our fondness for our patrons, and an immense appreciation for the Tuxedo Park community. Many thanks to library staff members and dedicated local volunteers for organizing an event that brings hundreds of people together.

The picnic helps raise funds for the library’s wide variety of programming and has grown tremendously over the past few years. Last year’s picnic showed such an increase in interest from local businesses and residents; the Library found it necessary to expand the size of the picnic’s ad journal by four pages.

The Tuxedo Memorial Day parade passes in front of the library on Route 17 at 11:30am. For senior citizens unable to stand to observe the parade, the library provides chairs and a pop-up tent for shelter from the sun. Picnic, entertainment and activities include DJ George Carney, custom photos by Clicks by Karen, a Bounce House, Balloons by Matt Stevens, face painting by Paloma Hekl, food and games for all ages. Jester Jim will entertain all at 12:30pm, and raffle drawings for a wide variety of locally donated prizes will begin at 2:00pm. The Library is thrilled to have additional Musical Entertainment provided this year by Tuxedo Jazz – a talented group of musicians made up of 7th – 12th graders from George F. Baker High School.

Main Raffle prizes include: Champagne Brunch for 4 at Glenmere Mansion; Weber Genesis 3-burner LP Gas Grill; Foursome of Golf & Lunch at the Tuxedo Club; 3-hour Dinner Picnic Cruise for 8 on Tuxedo Lake catered by Tuxedo Park Events; and an Amazon Echo. Tickets for main raffle and tricky tray may be purchased on this day up until the time of drawing.
