Submitting a Design for Printing

The library currently uses PLA and PETG (some with NFC chip) filament to fulfill print requests. There are 14 colors, subject to availability. Please note that due to supply, your chosen color may not be available. 3D models must be sent in. stl, .3mf, .obj, .stp, .igs, .ply, amf, XYZ format (3w), .nkg (.stl, .3w), G-Code.3w format.  Format is dependent on the printer being used.

A staff member will confirm your submission. Printing time will vary depending on the size and complexity of the model, as well as how many print requests are in line. Tuxedo Park Library strives to deliver 3D model requests within 14 days. When your print is complete, you will receive an email notification. Due to the way 3D printing works, your model may have extra plastic attached when you pick it up. This extra plastic comes in the form of supports and rafts that may have to be removed with tools.

Current charges for printing are $2 per hour of printing. There will be a minimum charge of $2 per print, and partial hours will be rounded in $1 increments. If an item is not picked up within a week of notification, the cost of printing the item will be added to the user’s library account and the item will become the property of the library.
