Tuxedo Park Library Observes Memorial Day with 19th Annual Community Picnic
Tuxedo Park, New York: Monday, May 27th from 12:00 pm – 2:30 pm, the Tuxedo Park Library will host our 19th Annual Memorial Day Community Picnic and Fundraiser. At the event, a journal will be distributed that commemorates community members who gave the supreme sacrifice while in service to their country. This event also gives the library the opportunity to show our gratitude to local service members, our fondness for our patrons, and an immense appreciation for the Tuxedo community. The picnic helps to raise funds for the library’s wide variety of programming and services, and has grown tremendously over the past two decades. Many thanks to our dedicated staff members and local volunteers for organizing this event.
The Tuxedo Memorial Day Parade passes in front of the library on Route 17 at 11:30am. For senior citizens who are unable to stand during the parade, the library will have chairs and a pop-up tent to shelter from the sun. A picnic with food, entertainment, and activities will be held on the library grounds from 12:00pm – 2:30pm; including music from DJ George Carney, balloons by Matt Stevens, a photobooth from Bellas Forever Films, face painting by Not Just Faces, children’s crafts with Ms. Kara, and food and games for all ages. Jester Jim will entertain all with his wacky mix of circus tricks, audience participation, and pop culture shoutouts at 12:30pm, followed by raffle drawings for a wide variety of locally donated prizes at 2:00pm.
Major raffle prizes include: Sunday Brunch for four adults at Glenmere Mansion in Chester, a three-hour dinner cruise for eight on Tuxedo Lake, a foursome of golf and lunch at The Tuxedo Club, and a Cuisinart Cleanburn Smokeless 24” Fire Pit with Wind Guard. Tickets for the major raffle and Tricky Tray raffles can be purchased at the library, up until the time of the drawing. You do not need to be present to win. All prizes must be picked up within 30 days.
