AARP Driver Safety, Tuesday, April 29th, 9am - 4pm, ages 50+

Tuesday, April 28th from 9am – 4pm
Presented by Thomas Barone, AARP Smart Driver Instructor

This refresher course is specially designed for motorists 50 years and over. You will learn:

  • Important facts about the effects of medication on driving.
  • How to reduce driver distractions.
  • How to maintain the proper following distance behind another car.
  • Proper use of safety belts, air bags, anti-lock brakes and new technology found in cars today.
  • Techniques for handling left turns, right-of-way, and roundabouts.
  • Age-related physical changes and how to adjust your driving to compensate.

There is a $25 fee for AARP members and a $30 fee for non-members. Registration begins Wednesday, April 1st for Tuxedo residents and Wednesday, April 15th for non-residents. Registration in person at the library is required along with payment by check, payable to AARP.

The library will provide a deli style lunch for attendees.
